Welcome, Internet!

You have stumbled upon - and I promise the rough first step will be fixed in time - my website. Who am I? I am The JD. There's a time and place for introductory material, but I'm quite confident in your ability to figure that out on your own.

So what is this place? It's an outlet for my thoughts, my writing, my creativity. It is an online portfolio, to an extent. In the interest of not releasing all my material for free, thus making it impossible to be published in a way that makes me any money, writing on this site is only a sample. This place is a sort of blogging HUB. I have had The Sports Blog for a long time now, but I have also recently opened a couple new blogs for various reasons. You can reach all of my bloggy goodness from this page or other pages on this site. It's also a place for news updates.

I know what you're thinking, you smug little monkey. You are wondering why news updates about me are, well, newsworthy. What makes me relevant in your world? Look around; give it time, and you won't be disappointed. My main goal is for you to read my work, show your friends, and maybe even someone who has the power to pay me to write. So please, read.

As you can see, the site is simple. There's some text, a few links, a table mixed in, and maybe a picture of two to stimulate your retinas. I am not some website design wizard (though I sure play a mean pinball. Says who? Yep.) My HTML knowledge is dreadfully rudimentary. If you can do better, by all means, be my guest. I'll pay you in thank yous and some pleasant comments on the site.

6-1-08 -- JD is now an occasional game reporter of the Kane County Cogars for ChicagoSporting.com. In a subsequent decision, JD has resigned from his role as monthly baseball columnist at 411Mania.com. His work will remain archived on the stie.

3-7-08 -- The Chicago story will be on newsstands around the third week of April. Look for it.

2-8-08 -- JD has signed and returned a contract to have an article appear in the April issue of Chicago magazine. Special thanks to everybody who has in some way helped to make my first published piece happen: Cassie Walker, Anne Halliday, Felice Herrig, Megan Haase, Dave Prazak, Sara Del Rey, Ted Anton, and all the little people. Yes, I'm thanking midgets. And gnomes. Dwarves. Leprechauns. But not babies. They didn't help at all.

In other JD News: JD will be dominating at DB once again on February 17th at 1 PM. The game will be held at TF South. Last game I had no interceptions, which was sad, but they only threw my way once. Yeah, he didn't catch that ball. Fear the JD!

If you happen to notice a freeservers.com image saying that I'm trying to remote link. This is not the case, the site just frequently messes up. It's unfortuante that it happens, but as long as they're hosting me for free I've got no choice. No need to tell me that a picture isn't working. There's not much I can do about it. This entire unfortunate situation can be fixed by someone agreeing to design and host a prettier site for me.
